Default Event Summary, a few words I'd like to share

This has been a month I will never forget! I'd like to say thanks to everyone who supported the event from the racers to everyone in our event crew and everyone else who attended or helped spread the word!

From my personal estimates I figure we had over 2,000 spectators, around 117 racers, and gave out over $2,700 dollars in cash for prize money. From walking around and speaking to the spectators and racers I was able to hear from all different points of view and am proud to say that overall I feel the event was considered a success.

Sunday morning around 8 AM the track was a huge pool of water. We were surrounded by clouds and the weather report said the odds were greatly against us. We made the decision to put our time and efforts fully into it and only give up if we were forced to.
Apparently God wanted to see some races and protected us with a virtually clear window of sky directly above the track. With only about 10 minutes of light sprinkles at one point, we were able to make use of a perfect day that would have otherwise turned out worthless.

From what I can recall, we ran almost perfectly according to schedule.
Although we were well prepared for them, we had zero oil downs or major leaks of any sort on the track.
We were even fortunate enough to have a new Nissan GTR on hand for everyone to check out.

Thanks EL PASO MOTORPLEX for putting together an unforgettable night. In my eyes it was a huge success from the weather to track conditions to staff personnel, to prices, to safety, etc & etc. Bracket racing is OK but this type of racing (heads up/ index) is what spectators want to see and are willing to pay for. There is more ten seconds cars here in El Paso that should of shown up but maybe for the next shootout the word would go out and we will have more cars participating in this class. For all you non believers that all you do is post negatives on this website about this track, you should of been there to see for yourself how well everything went. Thanks! to everyone, I'm extremenly happy for what transpired last night. This track is moving in the right direction. Peter

They provided a kick azz event and that is all that matters. I am eager for the next event! The turnout was great and I have a feeling it will continue to be. ;)

my brief explanation of the results

Rick Stiles RX-7 took the 10 second class over Walter Andrews' Mustang...

Jaime from HPS (green fox) took the 11 sec class over Jeremy's Black EVO (evo had taken the fox in the first round...but word is that the evo's bov popped off, which led the fox's victory)

Chema from American Muscle (s/c 98 Cobra) took the 12 sec calss over Bob Nichols' Big Block Gremlin

Chema from American Muscle (again) took the 13 sec class in a red ws6 trans am over the 01 Cobra (also from American Muscle)

A white fox took the bracket class...ls2 gto got 2nd
