Lots of good stuff going to waste with that program. There was an article in the NY Times about a guy who traded in his '96 TransAm for a new Prius. He deserves to have his man card revoked.

Along most single wide trailer houses you will find a Chevrolet on blocks.

Those idiot Democrats didn't even have the cash to keep the program going. They suspended after four days. I wouldn't give those a-holes the satisfaction of doing that to one of my vehicles.

Why does everything have to come around to politics?

I wonder if some of the people trading in know what will become of there car? I ask, cause some of these cars are nice, and would probably sell for more then $4500, OR would have a good trade in value.

don't get me wrong, the over all view of the plan is good. there are way too many bad cars on the streets. I see many cars that should be used as "CARS" trade in. the problem is those cars are owned by people that don't have the money or credit to buy a new car. so the owners of cars that should be destroyed, cant use the concept of "CARS". the people that can use the "CARS" program already drive decent vehicles, so it seems a wast to destroy a perfectly fine running car or truck. there are many people out there with a real POS, that could use those "CARS" that will be destroyed. If they extend the "CARS" program, they should allow "Low Income" people to visit dealerships and for a nominal fee, swap vehicles.
