July 4th Dezert Demonz/Evolution Shootout

:: Dezert Demonz/Evolution Racing Shootout:: 4th of July- Big Crowd! - Vince and Cliff aka -"Those 2 Chevells" are back on top at DD but have some big competition right on there back bumper. 5 Cars were in the 10's in the V8 Wild Class and the DD record for a car got lowered 4 times by Cliff and Vince both. Vince Moore backed up his 10.64 (personal best) he got at Thunder Alley Saturday with a 10.65. Semi Finals saw Cliff face off against Joe Pena in his Nova - Joe slipped around the track trying to catch him but couldn't do it. Cliff Wells in his yellow Chevelle took out Ray Frescas in his black Mustang. Ray got a nasty holeshot on Cliff but couldn't hold him off on the top end - Ray's 10.8 just wasn't enough against Cliff's 10.4! Cliff lost a slick coming back to the pits so in a mad thrash with some help from Danny Acevedo and a few others, they replaced the flat with a slick from David Nowell's Camaro. "The Chevelles" were in the finals. Cliff got holeshotted again, but it didn't matter as Cliff powered by Vince with a 10.30 to Vince's 10.52. It was a bad ass race! These were the best ET's both of these guys have ever run and they did it side by side in the finals - Damn, does get any better than that? Cliff Wells picked up $600, got a new pair of slicks courtesty of Evolution Racing (isn't that ironic) and a $1000 stereo system.

V8 Mild saw David Nowell in his 69 Camaro take out Vince Vigil in his black Nova in the semis. The other semi final was Pedro in his black WS6 Trans Am win over Danny Acevedo in his black Mustang Cobra. The final was David Nowell over Pedro in the Trans Am. David picked up $400 for the V8 Mild win.
