BEST SHOOTOUT EVER?

Dezert Demonz Street Shootout Sunday October 12th
The turnout was really good, the races were awesome and spectator turnout was really good too- a few thousand people at only 4 bucks to watch. JR Mijares took the green and gold 68 Camaro and won the Wild street class and then won the $300 Challenge against Joe Pena.

UNOFFICAL RESULTS
OUTLAW V8
- Adrian Duron 1st

Wild V8 - JR Mijares 1st Jose Lozada 2nd

Mild V8 - Geno Leyba (El Camino) over Juan Jimenez (Corvette)

V6 - Alex Medrano (GMC Syclone) over a Red Supra from Cruces

4 Cyl - Louie in his badd ass Honda (Axion Motors Civic) over a Silver Prelude

JR MIJARES made it through some good races to make it to the finals including Portillo's Nova and Garry Coufal's quick blown small block S-10. He ran Jose Lozada's roadster in the finals.

THE EVOLUTION RACING CHALLENGE JOE PENA VS. JR MIJARES
Joe's car got out of shape and looked like it was gong to t-bone JR but got back into his lane.

Evolution Racing put up the prize money and sponsored the event. They also had to asphalt work done in the pits and staging areas.

Absolutely the big high light of the night was when Jason Berlin launched in his Wild Street Mustang bringing the front tire over 3 feet off the ground-carrying it out about 20-30 feet out! But right off the concrete it started pulling back towards the centerline and veered back to the right side and went out in the dirt. The car went into a slide in the dirt off the right side of the track. Luckily Jason was fine. The race was kinda disorganized and the classes that some cars were in didn't make sense. But this was one of the first races run by the track itself, so hopefully next race is smoother. But overall, an awesome night- if you weren't there you missed out.

Adrian Duron won the Outlaw class. Vic Hernandez (red vette), Rolfe Sassenfeld (blue and white vette) and Charlie Gibson in his yellow 70 Camaro were also in this class.

Geno Leyba won the V8 Mild class in his big block El Camino. This was the largest class with a bunch of quick street cars.

V6 Class Alex Medrano won in his nasty fast GMC Syclone over a Red Supra from Cruces

Rolfe Sassenfeld showed up in his 9 Second 'Vette but spun bad in the second round against Vic Hernandez's red Vette (above).

Charlie Gibson brought out his big block Camaro and ran the Outlaw class but lost to Adrian Duron in a wicked come from behind win.

Lightining strikes twice! These two lightning from HP paired up for a really close race in the V8 Mild class - Danny won the round in the red Lightning.
