Carlsbad Dragway Reopening
About 30-35 cars showed up Saturday morning to run at Carlsbad's first race in years. Unfortunately the wind was blowing and the problems with the timing system forced the race to be canceled. Here's a few pics I got there.

Charlie Gibson towed his 10 second Camaro from El Paso to Carlsbad along with Louie Vasquez, Walter Andrews, Gary Couffal and us.

Gary Couffal was trying out his new supercharged dragster in Carlsbad for the first time ever driving it. Unfortunately he lost a rod on his second or third pass.

Nice Pro-Street Big Block stepside out of Carlsbad. Drives it on the street has the original bench seat with an Auto Meter Guage set up and stereo in the orignal dash. Looked really clean.

"Tequila" Louie Vasquez towed up to run his blue Camaro. He launched the car on his second pass but lots of smoke came out from underneath it and it left oil on the track. Louie said he cracked the transmission case. No pic.
