Andrew Jaramillo from Las Cruces, NM started the day off right
with a perfect .500 reaction in time trials winning the free entry
for the next race and then made it all the way to the Pro Class finals.

Andy Wiles from Las Cruces in his Yellow Dodge Duster ran a 12.17 on 12.15 Dial

Street

Harry Groessel racks up another win!
This race marked 50 Years of racing
by this area's Grandfather of Drag Racing
and he started it off in typical Harry style
with a win in Street Class over Javier Estrada

Harry didn't bring the ol' yellow AMC Javelin that he's famous for
because of the predicted nasty rain and wind. Instead he opted for this
20 second Dodge sedan. You can be competive with any car in street class.
It's a fun class - if you haven't bracket raced yet, give it a shot.
In any car! You'll get addicted.

Street Class Runner Up - Javier Estrada from El Paso
in his 17 Second V6 Camaro has been tough in the ASR Street Class
for a few years now and will be moving up to Modified
in his nearly completed Nova within the next couple of months.

No Bike Class
Not enough bike racers to make the minumum 10 for a class.

It was great to see John Walls from Chaparral, NM back out at ASR
Maybe not so great for the rest of the racers in Pro...

Alan Alvarez brought out his supercharged small block Mustang that
just cranked out 699 HP to the wheels - unfortunately he
shredded the cogged supercharger belt during time trials so he disconnected
the pipe and ran it naturally aspirated in Mod running in the 12's

Torres Racing in a Chevy? This is the youngest Torres, Zach in his first time out
getting some seat time to prepare for NHRA Stock Eliminator.
This Camaro has a 305 with a stock lift cam and ran 12.4's!

Victor Contreras from El Paso recently ditched his 5 speed for an automatic in his quest to get his street driven turbocharged Mustang into the 9's. He was just short with a best ET of 10.14 @ 135
